Q1. What does ABLE stand for?
ABLE is an acronym for Adaptive Blended Learning Environment™. ABLE offers course programs that 1. Adapt to students learning styles, and 2. Include in-class and online learning instruction (blended).
Q2. How do I register for a course?
You may register for a course in one of three ways: by completing and submitting a registration form online; by clicking on an Add to Cart button below a desired course and submitting your information from there, or by sending an email to or brian@ableinstitute.org.
Q3. Where is the ABLE Institute located?
The ABLE Institute is located three blocks south of the Charles River and one block north of Newbury St. on Massachusetts Avenue in Boston. The large, brownstone building ABLE occupies is adjacent to Commonwealth Avenue and across the street from Panificio Restaurant and Café. The building is one block from the Green Line, Hynes Convention Center/ICA T station.
Driving:
From the West: Take the Mass. Turnpike to the Prudential/Copley Square exit 22. When the ramp splits, take the ramp toward Prudential Ctr. Take a slight right onto Huntington Ave. Turn right onto Belvidere St. then turn right onto Massachusetts Ave. Continue on Mass Ave. as you pass Boylston St and Newbury St. Immediately after crossing Commonwealth Ave, The ABLE Institute is the first building on the right.
From the North: Take Route 93 to Storrow Drive. Off of Storrow Drive take the Back Bay/Copley Square exit. At the traffic light, take a right onto Beacon St. Continue on Beacon St until you reach Massachusetts Ave. Take a left on Mass Ave and continue past Marlborough St. The ABLE Institute is the last building on the left before the next set of lights.
From the South: Take Route 93. Get off at Frontage Rd Exit 18, and take a slight left onto Frontage Rd North. Turn left at the Massachusetts Ave Connector. Take a right onto Mass Ave. As you drive along Mass Ave, you will cross over the Mass Turnpike. Continue on Mass Ave. until you cross Commonwealth Ave. The ABLE Institute is the first building on the right after crossing Commonwealth Ave.

Take a B, C, or D Green Line train to the Hynes Convention Center stop. Use the main station exit. Take a right onto Massachusetts Ave, and cross Newbury St. Continue until you cross Commonwealth. The ABLE Institute will be your first building on the right.
MBTA Bus:
Bus 1 - Harvard Holyoke Gate Dudley Station via Mass Ave: Get off at the Massachusetts Ave & Commonwealth Ave stop. The ABLE Institute is the first building on the right, after crossing Commonwealth Ave.
Bus CT 1 – Central Square, Cambridge – B.U. Medical Center/Boston Medical Center:
Get off at the Massachusetts Ave & Newbury St stop. Walk across Newbury St, and continue until you cross Commonwealth Ave. The ABLE Institute is the first building directly on the right.
Parking:
There are a few nearby parking garages, as well as a limited number of parking meters available.

Q4. How long is each online course?
Each course is designed to go over six to eight weeks worth of instruction and material. Typically students take about that amount of time to get through the course, although some become energized by the course and zip through in a shorter period of time.
ABLE provides 60 days of access for each course, although extensions are available.
Q5. What are ABLE's hours of availability?
ABLE is generally open from Monday- Friday from 10:30am- 7:00pm. Occasionally- twice a month on average- ABLE opens its doors from 1- 6pm on Saturdays.
Q6. Does ABLE offer I-20 forms?
We do not offer I-20 forms at this time. We are looking in to the application process and hope to begin offering the forms in the future.
Q7. What is the relationship between The ABLE Institute and Operation A.B.L.E?
The ABLE Institute and Operation A.B.L.E are two distinct entities with no relationship or affiliation with one another. The ABLE Institute is a private, for-profit, academic institution that focuses on providing Adaptive Blended Learning education for students between the ages of 18-44. Operation A.B.L.E, which stands for Ability Based on Long Experience, focuses on employment and training opportunities for individuals over the age of 45.
